SNEAK PEEKS:

Brianna Hale – Bought by Daddy

In the seedy, underground club, I take a mouthful of whisky to mask my pounding fury. All around me sit shadowy figures with baseball caps pulled low over their faces or bandanas around their mouths and noses, while young and drugged up women are paraded in front of us, some with vacant expressions, some with barely concealed terror. The first round are the girls and women who aren’t virgins, and they’re all dressed like colorful, flashy strippers with most of their flesh on display. My heart is in my mouth as each woman is dragged on stage with a chain around her neck. The bidding is humiliating for the women. Some go for as little as a thousand dollars. A thousand for a human life. It’s disgusting.

After an hour, the unseen woman running the auction announces over the speakers that the first round is over and the virgins will be next, and I sit upright in shock. Scarlet hasn’t appeared. They’ve killed her. I’ll burn this place down. I’ll murder every last person in this club with my bare—

Before I can leap out of my seat, Scarlet is dragged on stage by a chain around her neck.

My whole world turns crimson with bloodlust at the sight of her terrified face.

The man holding the chain.

The invisible woman calling my girl, “Lot one-one-seven” instead of her name.

The buyers all around me devouring Scarlet with greedy eyes.

I’ll kill them all.

Focus. I’ll get Scarlet safely away from here, and later I can take as much revenge as I want.

I listen to the bids going up and up. Twenty thousand. Twenty-five thousand. The bids dwindle until there’s just one man left. He’s wearing a cheap shirt and a twisted, triumphant sneer on his lips, and he’s staring at Scarlet like she’s a butterfly and he’s craving to pull her wings off.

“One hundred thousand dollars,” I call out.

Purple shirt man glares at me. He opens his mouth like he wants to make another bid, and then takes an angry swig of his drink.

The room is silent.

“Lot one-one-seven, sold to bidder nineteen.”

I stand up and stride to the back of the room where the bursar is waiting at a laptop and complete the Bitcoin transaction. No cash and credit cards here, only cryptocurrency that can’t be traced.

Then I’m led into a side room and told to wait for my goods.

A few minutes later, a door opens and Scarlet is thrust inside. She stumbles, and as she looks up at me with haunted eyes, she bursts into tears. I draw her into my arms and cradle her against my chest, murmuring soft words as she heaves against me. Her whole body is shaking in fear. “It’s all right. Daddy’s got you.”

“How did you find me here? Did Zac tell you? Mr. Ventura, I’m so sorry. I don’t understand how this happened.”

I take her tearstained face in my hands and kiss her tears from her cheeks. She’s warm and alive, and she’s mine. All mine. “I’m just relieved I got you back.”

“Please take me home.”

My smile is devilish. Home, to those assholes who didn’t even know she was gone? I don’t fucking think so. “I can’t do that, babygirl. I paid a lot of money for you and now you’re in my debt. How are you going to pay me back?”

She swallows and her face falls. “Of course I’ll pay you back, every cent. I’m a hard worker.”

I shake my head. “On minimum wage with a skating career to support? I’d like to see return on my investment before I die.”

“Investment?” she echoes.

“Either you’re mine for the next month…or I put you right back in that room and those men can fight over you. Your choice. Oh, and one more thing.” My smile widens. “Don’t call me Mr. Ventura. Call me Daddy.”

Scarlet is staring at me like she doesn’t recognize me. This is me, rosebud. I’m done playing nice.

“Daddy?”

It’s a question, not an address, but that sweet word twines through me and short-circuits the last of my patience. I take her hand and tug her toward the door. She can get used to her new reality later. I need to get her in my house, now.

In my bedroom.

In my bed.

Her Ever After Daddies by Measha Stone

Cory’s face burned with embarrassment. She worked hard to hide certain aspects of herself from the outside world. Especially, those she worked with and customers at the club. But somehow, Kaleb and Jason saw right through her. But if they really were daddies, did she really have any chance of not being caught by them?

“Okay.” She took a deep breath and stood up from the couch. “So, you want to keep the contract between us?” she asked, trying to take a matter-of-fact tone. Better to see this as a business transaction. They’d get their fun, and she’d probably have some too along the way, then in the end, she’d have the money she needed.

“Absolutely.” Jason nodded.

“Damn right,” Kaleb grumbled.

“Kaleb, I didn’t mean to lie to you guys. You were customers, and it wouldn’t have been appropriate for me to tell you that I needed some extra cash.” There, use logic, that should put out the fire burning in his eyes.

“What did I tell you that night when you insisted nothing was wrong and you weren’t lying to us?” Kaleb asked, his dark eyes narrowing. He was intimidating enough with his dress shirt hugging his muscular form so tightly, and all his tattoos running down his arms, but now that she had a sense of what he was going to do with her, her nerves worked overtime.

“You said if you found out I was lying, I’d pay.” She blinked. It had been such an off the cuff comment, she’d disregarded it.

“So, then you understand what that means now, right?” Kaleb asked.

“You don’t really think to punish me for that?” She laughed. “I wasn’t under contract with you then.”

Jason moved away from the fireplace to bring an armless chair to the center of the room. “No, you weren’t. But you are now. And you agreed to receive spankings, both erotic and disciplinary during your time with us.” Jason shucked off his jacket and tossed it over the back of the chair. “And I think we’ve come to the part of the night where you get the punishment. Kaleb, help our little girl out of that wet dress, please.”

Cory stood, frozen in place, as Kaleb moved behind her searching for the zipper. With gentle care, he ran the zipper down the track. His large, rough hands, moved along her bare back to push the dress down over her shoulders.

“No bra?” Jason smiled at her as her breasts were exposed. A tingle danced down her spine. She’d been naked in front of men before, but none of them had such a hungry stare as Jason did.

Kaleb pushed the dress over her hips. “No panties either.” He sounded appreciative.

“Little girls shouldn’t go out without panties, Cory,” Jason chastised, but his pupils were too damn large for her to take him seriously. The hard bulge in his pants spoke to his enjoyment as well.

“Have you ever been spanked before?” Kaleb asked, squatting in front of her. He took her hands and placed them on his broad shoulders so she could balance while he plucked off her heels.

“Yes,” she answered. This was her job now. A full week of being their little girl, and she’d have everything she needed. There were worse ways to make money than spending it with two of the hottest men in the city.

“When?” Jason asked as he rolled up his sleeves, revealing his own dark tats. She’d never noticed them before because he always wore a suit.

“The last time was two years ago.” Her face heated again. “My boyfriend at the time was my…” she couldn’t bring herself to say it. It had been the last time she’d called anyone Daddy. It had been the last time she thought she ever would.

“He was your daddy?” Jason finished for her again.

“Yes.” She nodded.

“Good.” Kaleb stood up again, brushing his fingertips along her jaw. “Daddy Jason is going to punish you now, Cory. You are never ever to lie to us again. Not even little lies. Not even omissions. We can’t help you if you don’t tell us. Do you understand me?” He cupped her face in his large hand, and hell, it felt good.

“I was only trying to be professional.” She tried once more to make him understand.

“Now, you can do your best to be a good girl and take your spanking.”

Aiden

I stared at the woman standing outside of the Uber. She looked pissed. But I needed to get to our West Coast corporate retreat.

She opened my door, which took me by surprise. Did she have some type of mental imbalance, or was she on drugs?

She opened her mouth to speak, but her phone beeped. She looked down at her phone and then turned to the driver. “You canceled my ride!”

The driver shrugged. “He offered me $100.”

She stomped her foot on the ground and threw up her hands. “You’d already started the meter!”

Damn. I thought she was just keeping the man waiting. I didn’t know she was paying him to wait. That meant I was the asshole here.

I sighed. Time to turn on the charm.

I stared directly into her green eyes. “Please forgive me.” I saw her lips part just a little. Yup, she wanted me.

I shot her a flirty smile, reached into my wallet, and pulled out a $100 bill. “Take this, for what was already on the meter, and get yourself breakfast on me.”

She didn’t reach for the money. “I don’t need your money. I need this car. So get the hell out.”

Seriously? Judging from her big box store athletic wear, which I had to admit hugged her figure well, I couldn’t believe she didn’t need, or at least want, the money.

“Listen, lady, I’ll come back for you,” the Uber driver said.

Her head snapped to face the driver. “I’ll deal with you in a minute.”

I wanted to be contrite, even though I really didn’t have the patience for this. “Get in the car, and I’ll pay him to take you wherever you want to go after I’m done.”

She folded her arms across her chest. “How about you go wherever you’re going after I’m done?”

“I don’t have time for this.” Yes, I was in the wrong, but the driver wanted my business more than hers. Just as I was about to lean forward to tell the driver to leave, she swung the door open wide.

I stared at her. “What do you think you’re doing?”

She tried to push her way into the backseat. “I don’t have time for this either!”

I refused to budge.

She attempted to push me across the seat with her little body, and when she didn’t succeed, she opted to climb over me.

Her butt grazed my lap as she took the place next to me in the backseat.

The move was insane, but it turned me on. I am a dude, after all.

Her long, light brown ponytail swayed back and forth as she panted from the effort of forcing her way into the backseat with me. If I wasn’t in such a hurry, I’d think she was kind of cute. Not my regular type and possibly insane, but definitely cute.

“Take me to the Malibu Retreat Center,” she instructed the driver.

“The one just up the hill?” the driver asked her.

She refused to even look in my direction. “Yes, it’ll only take five minutes. Then you can take him to his Assholes Anonymous meeting or wherever he’s going.”

I couldn’t help but smile. She worked for my father’s company. Wouldn’t little Miss Angry Pants be so surprised!

Let Me Fly
A.C. Pontone
(Wild Wings, #1)
Publication date: September 9th 2021
Genres: Adult, Paranormal, Reverse Harem, Romance

My name is Isabelle Dark, and my life sucks. In exactly ten days, four hours, fifty-seven minutes, and fifteen seconds, I will cease to exist.
Okay, maybe that’s a bit dramatic, but what would you say if you were being forced to marry a man you despise?
Exactly. I have to find a way to escape.
Up to now I’ve spent my life in hiding. There aren’t any other options for those like me: I’m a Nephilim, a half-breed. The only choice I have is whether to be killed by the Shadows or to remain here, hidden among the Hollows.
So I made my decision: I would rather risk my life fighting to be free than continue to struggle to survive in the home I grew up in.
My plan was to go to college and live a normal life, but somehow I ended up in a school for Shadows where everyone hates me. Plus, I’ve been assigned seven angels as my bodyguards. Jailers would be a more appropriate word.
The tension growing between us is impossible to deny. Sparks are starting to fly. They’re beginning to get under my skin and . . .
What do I do now?
My name is Isabelle Dark. I’m a Nephilim and I’m screwed.

Warning: This book is a full-length reverse-harem romance. It contains adult themes, MM scenes, foul language and some violence. If, however, you’re in the market for a novel full of sexy angels and a hot-blooded main character, you’ve found your next read.
Let Me Fly is the first book in the Wild Wings series and cannot be read as a standalone.
Intended for 18+ readers.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

My name is Isabelle Dark and my life sucks. In exactly ten days, four hours, fifty-seven minutes, and fifteen seconds, I will cease to exist.

Why do I say this? Well, all you need to know is that I’ve been forced to live in the shadows. I have to struggle to survive in my own home. There’s no other choice for someone like me. I’m a half-breed, which means that my only alternatives are to be killed by the Shadows or stay hidden here, among the Hollows. As I said, it sucks!

I shake my head as a hysterical laugh forces its way out of my throat. I can tell the woman behind me is frowning, her mouth tightly closed, her lips pressed together. “Stay still,” she orders me. “Hold your breath and suck your belly in!”

My jaw goes rigid, but I remain silent.

“Don’t make that face!” she mutters. “You need to eat less. You’re not thin enough!”

Fuck you, I think, as my hands ball into fists and I try to keep myself from punching her in the face. I hate her. I hate everything about her. I hate her pointy nose, her high cheekbones, her oval face, her gray eyes that have no spark of light in them, her brown hair that’s always pulled back in a perfect chignon. I hate her long skirt and dumb white shirt buttoned up so tightly under er chin. I don’t understand how she doesn’t choke. Why can’t she choke?

With a sigh I regard the image in the mirror again. Who are you? I struggle to hold back the tears. I don’t want to cry, not while the woman is looking at me.

She yanks the laces of my dress even tighter, so tight I can barely breathe. Who are you? I ask my reflection again. The person in the mirror is a stranger. She’s not wearing my usual outfit of ripped jeans and a man’s T-shirt. Her blond hair frames her face, falling in soft waves on the lace bodice of the dress, which is peekaboo, with visible stays. It extends to her hips, emphasizing her narrow waist. The full, soft skirt falls to her feet. The pure white of the dress blends in with the white skin of the girl in the mirror.

I heave a sigh, and the sad blue eyes in the glass regard me. They’re alien to me, but somehow terribly familiar at the same time.

Who are you?

“Edward certainly won’t want a fat wife!” The bitch tightens the ribbons of the bodice even more. I’m suffocating.

“Fuck you,” I mutter, this time audibly. I want her to hear. She ignores me as she continues to fit me with my wedding dress. There are now only ten days, four hours, fifty minutes, and thirty seconds remaining until I say I do.

But it’s not going to happen. Less than three hours from now I’m going to escape. I have to, if I want to survive—or at least die free. What will become of me when I leave this damned prison, though? What will become of you? I silently ask the girl reflected in the mirror.

Once upon a time, Sasha Petrov had been a mafia princess. Safe and protected in the high-tower of her father’s mansion. She had known her place, and she’d been happy for it. That had been before her family decided to marry her off to their enemy.

Sasha Petrov knew it was her duty to marry, but she never expected her father to give her away to their enemy, the Blanchi family. She’d accepted that it was her fate to end the bloodshed that took her brother’s life, but at eighteen she’d rather be heading off to college than heading down the aisle.

Dominic “Dom” Blanchi saw an opportunity to save his brother’s life. He’d already lost so much, and he couldn’t imagine burying another beloved member of his family. He was certain that his marriage to Sasha Petrov would save his last remaining brother from the grave. Getting a pliant young wife in the deal wouldn’t be the worst thing, at least, that’s what he told himself. But when his family’s warehouses get hit and Blanchi men continue dying, Dominic wonders if his new wife is to blame.

Now, both must make a choice between love and family loyalty.

And Sasha will have to decide if she’d rather be a Mafia Princess or a queen.

Goodreads / Amazon

EXCERPT:

Dominic lifted my veil, and I sobbed harder at the thought of what came next. Never before did I imagine my first kiss to be with a man who despised me, and I especially did not imagine it to be in front of nearly three hundred strangers on my wedding day. But, here we were with Dominic preparing himself to steal the first part of my innocence.

Ignoring my tears, Dominic made a big show of sweeping me into his arms before placing a sweet, chaste kiss on my lips. I cried harder as the crowd went wild.

“Smile, Sasha,” he commanded in his rough voice as he took my hand and led me down the aisle amongst cheers and rose pedals. I tried my best to bottle my emotions and smile pretty, but I felt dazed by the day’s events.

The cool air on my face as we finally reached the doorway of the church brought me out of my stupor. People threw rose petals on us, and photographers snapped pictures as we made our way towards the car. I wanted to scream and shout at all of them for not helping me.

“Where are we going?” I asked Dominic as we settled into the limo. I didn’t want to talk to him, but I honestly had no idea what came next. My family had taken care of all the planning, and no one deemed to tell me anything about it.

The largesse of my wedding dress made sitting next to each other impossible, and the distance gave me space to think and take in the events of the last hour.

“Take this,” he said in response, handing me a tissue box. “Wipe your face and fix your makeup. I don’t want to walk into our reception with you looking the way you do.”

His words stung, but I said nothing. Not only did my new husband scare me, but I was too tired to fight so early on into our marriage. Instead, I began dabbing my eyes like the good girl I was raised to be.

The ceremony had been long. Catholic ceremonies always were and considering ours needed to be conducted in both the Orthodox and the Roman way, I was surprised people even agreed to stay.

I was exhausted, and I wanted nothing more than to strip off my heavy dress and take a nap.

Readings, followed by mass, followed by a sermon, followed by vows, and then finally the kiss. So much pomp and circumstance for a wedding we all dreaded. Away from the crowds and the pressure, my tears abated, as I wiped my face and began reapplying my make-up.

No use crying now. I thought. Nothing could be done.

“How do I look?” I asked after applying a fresh coat of lipstick. I silently thanked Nadia for insisting on outfitting the limo with emergency supplies.

Dominic took my face in his large hands, gently turning me one way and then another. Despite feeling like cattle under the auction appraisers, I kept my mouth shut and allowed him to inspect me.

“You look like a child,” he said with disgust before releasing me from his grip.

EXCERPT:

I stood inside the automatic doors; hands clenched. This is it. Taking a deep breath, I took a step forward, dodging a group of men in surgical scrubs, and taking a sharp left towards what I thought was the elevator bank. A few steps in and I quickly realized I had gone the wrong way. Instead of elevators, a coffee cart with a line of customers wrapped around the corridor stood in its place. Shit. I must have gotten turned around and needed to go right, not left. I spun around to change course only to plow directly into someone holding a fresh cup of scolding hot coffee.

“Oh my god.” I stumbled backwards, my heel catching on the toe of my other shoe.

“Hot. That’s hot.” The guy swiped at his chest, coffee running down the front of his shirt and tie.

I looked up into the face of one of the most gorgeous men I had ever seen. “Oh my god, you are hot.”

“What?” He pulled at his clothes.

“I mean, er, yes. Your coffee.” Shit. “It’s super hot. I’m so sorry.” Heat spread across my cheeks for the second time this morning. I reached over the counter for a stack of napkins, trying to remove all evidence of our meeting from his shirt. “Did I burn you?”

“No it’s… I’m fine. I’m good.” He tossed the empty cup into the trash and took the remaining napkins from me.

“That was completely my fault. I’m gonna be late and I got totally turned around and I wasn’t paying attention to where I was going and…”

“It’s okay.” He smiled. “Apology accepted.”

His voice was deep and sensual, forcing my thighs to squeeze together at his words. For a split second I took the risk of looking him in the eye, but quickly decided my knees weren’t strong enough to handle it. His complexion was a creamy sand and his black pearl eyes were warm but mysterious. Longish onyx hair, a direct contrast to the professional business attire, fell slightly into his face as he looked down at me. My insides melted into warm pools when he reached for my hand, shaking it firmly in his grip.

“Ryan,” he said, licking his lips.

“Stella.” I breathed, barely audible. Whoa. Electricity passed between us as my heart fell into my stomach. Who was this guy?

“Well it was nice meeting you Stella, but I’m running late myself.” He dropped my hand. The warm burn remained like a phantom ghost in my palm. “Have a good day.”

“You too,” I said.

He disappeared through the crowd of visitors pushing in through the Emergency Department and I inhaled a deep breath, allowing my heart to slow down to a normal rate. Several stunned moments passed as it took me to realize that what I had experienced just then was in fact not an out of body experience. That guy, that… Ryan really existed. I caught my reflection in the window and saw my face and chest were still burning a deep red. Plus I was pretty sure my loins were hanging out completely exposed. Not a good look for a positive first impression. I took another deep breath and got myself turned in the right direction, realizing I was supposed to go right instead of left to find the elevators. I was never going to make it on time but at least I wouldn’t be lying when I claimed that I had gotten turned upside down, and not just by the building.

EXCERPT:

Simon wiped at his leaking eyes before striding across the grass and pulling me up by my biceps. “He gave you an hour and we’ve wasted enough of it. You have to get ready.”

Dumbstruck, I allowed him to pull me by the forearm back to the house.

“Clem, get their leathers ready,” he called over his shoulder as we crunched over broken glass and fallen books.

The house looked no better than it had a week ago after our little invasion, and I had to wonder how many times it had broken apart and been put back together by magic over the years. Simon muttered to himself for a second before picking through the debris, yanking me behind him to the staircase. An irritated trill pulled my gaze to my feet, and an angry set of glowing green eyes pierced me with an annoyed glare. Simon yanked me again, and Isis wound around his feet nearly tripping him.

“Damn and blast, Isis. It’s not my fault you went and hid under the bed. The whole bloody house was going to fall on us, you mangy feline, and you can’t die.”

She couldn’t? Well, that was new information—and sort of comforting if I was being honest. The world without a little skeleton kitty in it seemed just a bit awful to me. I pulled my arm out of Simon’s hold and picked up the bone cat, cuddling her in my arms as I continued following him up the stairs.

“Did evil Simon leave you behind, my sweet girl. What a bad daddy.” Scratching at her nonexistent fur, I smiled evilly when Simon shot me a look over his shoulder as he muttered something about children these days.

Release Date: September 30, 2021

BLURB

Five years.
That’s how long it took me to find her.

Five years after my world shattered, leaving me a scarred and broken man.

By then, the girl I knew was gone. In her place stood a woman. One who looked like an angel. An impossible, beautiful angel.

I killed for her. Soaked my hands in the blood of those who hurt her and rescued her from hell.

But hell has a way of following you. Becoming a part of you. Maybe the only part you recognize.

I had every intention of bringing her home. Setting her free.
I swear I did.

But the men who stole her all those years ago weren’t done with her yet. They’d stop at nothing to get her back. And I’d kill any man who tried to take her from me.

She calls me her avenging angel.
But I know the truth.
I’m no angel.

Because even as I tell myself I’m protecting her I know one thing for sure.

I am a monster, too. No better than them.
Because just like them, I’ll never let her go.

Author's note: Stolen is Dante Grigori's story and although a standalone, would be better enjoyed after reading With This Ring and I Thee Take.

Five years.
Five fucking years. That’s how long it has taken me to find her. And the only reason I did was word circulating about Petrov having been duped.
Felix Pérez going into hiding.
Bastard.
I climb out of the car at the entrance of The Hudson Hotel. An icy drizzle pelts me as I adjust the collar of my coat before looking up at the penthouse windows more than twenty floors up.
She’s here.
It’s her.
It has to be.
The second SUV comes to a stop behind ours and as Matthaeus flanks me, three more men fall in line behind him. I push my hands into my pockets and walk toward the entrance. A bellman opens the door. I don’t miss the widening of his eyes when the light from a passing car dances across my face. Maybe it’s not my appearance that’s got him freaked. Maybe it’s my entourage. Because we look like trouble.
And we are.
I make my way to the concierge desk and give the attendant my name. Well, not my real name. The name of the asshole who paid extra to get his turn early in the night. Before she’s used up. He’s dead now.
The attendant can’t quite keep eye contact. I blink, watching him as his eyes move over the eyepatch, the deep, still angry X-shaped scar across my cheek. I let him look. Let him clear his throat in embarrassment as he makes a point of rearranging his desk while asking for identification.
I pat my pockets. “Guess I forgot it.”
He finally forces himself to meet my gaze, his neck and face flushed.
“Envelope,” I say, holding out my hand. I don’t have time for this buffoon.
“Yes, sir.” His hand trembles as he hands the envelope over. He wants me gone and I can’t blame him.
I check my watch. We have to time this exactly right. I walk toward the elevators followed by my men. As if to oblige us, the doors slide open just as we get to them, and we step inside. I rip the envelope open, press the key into the slot marked Penthouse and let the doors slide closed. Matthaeus sets the black duffel bag on the floor, unzips it and hands each of the men an automatic rifle. They have suppressors in place, although there’s really no way to muffle that sound. But if all goes to plan, it won’t matter.
An upbeat tune plays in the background as I stare at my own face in the mirrored doors. I make myself look. Make myself see. I wonder if she’ll be scared when she sees me.
My phone buzzes. I reach into my pocket, take it out, scan the text. Cristiano telling me the soldiers are in place, both inside and outside the property. Chopper is on its way, and they’ve secured our exit.
If I can get out.
If.
Because he thinks this is a shit idea.
But no, it’s not if I get out. I have no intention of dying tonight. Not until I’ve killed that fat fuck Petrov. Not until I’ve buried my knife in Felix Pérez’s gut. Not until I have their blood and the blood of anyone else who touched her on my hands.
Then, I can die.
Only then.
He reminds me again of Petrov’s soldiers nearby, the distraction we arranged only giving us minutes inside the suite. He asks one more time if I know what the fuck I’m doing.
I text him a pirate emoji, along with the middle finger, then silence my phone. He’ll be pissed but this is mine. What happened to her happened because of me. What happened to all of them happened because of me. All while I simply walked away.
So, as the elevator approaches the penthouse, I crack my neck and pull my pistol out of its shoulder holster. Then twist the silencer into place and hold the weapon at my side.
Because tonight is the beginning of their end.
Tonight, I take back what they stole.

Conversation continues around us, but all I see is Layla. For the first time in over a dozen years, I wish my friends weren’t around.
I could pull her out of her chair and onto my lap. She’d feel my hardening erection and I wouldn’t care because she’s the one who did it to me. I’d reach up and thread my fingers through her hair, keeping it away from her beautiful face, and pull her lips to mine.
From that moment on, we would simply exist as one.
“Colt,” she whispers, her voice a lustful combination of turned on and scared. I know the feeling.
“Yeah, baby?”
She makes a noise in the back of her throat. “Oh, shit, you called me baby. I can’t handle this.”
“Sorry. Am I overstepping?” I ask, reluctantly removing my hand from her.
“No! It’s just,” she drops her head, shaking it back and forth, “I never thought…”
“Never thought what?”
Layla’s eyes never leave mine as if she’s hoping she can still read right through me. She probably can, and maybe I should be worried about that but I’m really not. If Natalie’s death taught me anything, it’s that life is short. Yeah, I was hurt. Tim pulled me aside earlier and said point blank that I had only two choices. Either get over it because life isn’t meant to be lived holding a grudge, or live alone the rest of my life and likely have to watch her eventually with another man. He’d understood the hurt, hell, he was the first one here after she left so he saw the destruction from the beginning. The other man part isn’t what changed my mind. It was the holding a grudge part.
Natalie would have kicked my ass if she’d still been here when Layla came back. She always told me we’d find our way back, our path just didn’t look like I’d originally thought it would. And maybe that’s part of why I was holding onto that hurt. Because my plan was changed.
“I never thought we’d be able to even consider getting back to this.”
“Are you considering it?” I ask her, even though I know the answer. I need to hear it from her lips.
She watches me closely. “I am. Might be stupid, but it goes beyond consideration straight into hope. I’m hoping for this.”
I smile and give her neck a little squeeze. “I’m right there with you.”

BLURB

Shane--

I live at the end of this dark, deserted, dead-end street for a reason.
I don't like neighbors, and I'm not into kids. So I'm pissed to learn the vacant house across the street just got rented.

When a child comes snooping around my house, I'm forced to do the last thing I want to do--meet my new neighbor. When I go to return the kid to her side of the street, I come face-to-face with one pissed off mama bear and the hottest chick I've ever laid eyes on--and that's saying a lot.

Suddenly I'm all about being neighborly; the only problem is she wants nothing to do with me or my MC life.

Can I blame her?

Guess I'll just have to change her mind.

When problems start piling up at the club, I can't help wondering if she's to blame. I've never had a woman twist me in knots like this one.

My life is simple and uncomplicated--I live for my club.

I have a feeling she's going to complicate everything.

Brianna--

When I see the motorcycles pull in across the street, I suddenly realize why this rental house was so cheap and the leasing agent so eager to unload it.

But when you're running for your life, a dead-end street with few neighbors sounds perfect.

One look at the badass biker next door is all it takes for me to know I want nothing to do with trouble like him.

He's the worst kind of dangerous--a man built like a Chippendale dancer who radiates confidence and fearlessness. I'm sure there's not a situation he couldn't handle or a room he wouldn't own just by walking through the door.

He's the kind of man men fear and women want to tame---the kind of man my mother warned me about.

I've got secrets, and he wants to know every one of them.

I have a feeling he's going to complicate everything.
