We're just 2 crazy sister's who had crazy parents that named us day's of the week. One of us has been book blogging for over 6 year's. After reading many different books and arguing who's book boyfriend was better. One of us convinced the other to start a book blog called #WhyChoose. Because honestly why does one book boyfriend have to be better than the other? Or why do you only need to have one?

Passing the Torch {Book Review}

Title: Passing the Torch
Series: Devil's Knights 2nd Generation Book 1
Author: Winter Travers
Genre: MC Romance

Book Description:

From Wall Street Journal and USA Today Bestselling author, Winter Travers, comes the highly anticipated Devil's Knights 2nd Generation.

The club was my life.
It was all I had ever known.

Becoming the next president of the Devil's Knights is all I have ever wanted.
The gavel in my hand and the wind at my back.

Sometimes dreams don't always happen like you plan.

My Review:

So it feels like a really long time since I've read a book from Mrs. Travers. I loved the original Devil's Knights series and never missed reading the books when they came out. So to see that she was coming out with the kids books made me giddy and I couldn't wait to read them. Though I do have to say I'm always weary when I go into the kids books, because they are either a hit or a miss with me.

So I'm gonna start with Hero (aka Micah), if you don't know who his is, he is Cyn and Rigid's son. I have to say that I mean I liked him. At times he seemed over-sure and overconfident, maybe even a bit co(ky. But he was still likeable at least. I will say this his relationship with his parents and even the club at times seemed weird to me. Part of the book he refered to his parents as Mom and Dad, than the other part he refered to his father as Rigid. I don't know it was just weird to me.

Reva, she was ok, she was a likeable character. She was just a kinda of go with the flow character. She didn't seem to question anything. And she didn't seem to have any opinions on the club.

It's now the second generations turn to take the gavel and take over the club. The kids seem ready but the adults don't seem so ready to give over control just yet. In this book we get Hero {Rigid and Cyn's son} ready to take the torch from King and become president. The parents of the kids are ready to head out on vacation.

I have to say overall I did enjoy this book. There was a little bit of drama thrown in, I mean come on ya got to throw some excitment in somewhere. I do have to say though as mentioned at the beginning of this review, the kids books are either hits or misses with me. I won't say it was a Hit with me or a Miss with me, I was more in between with this one. Although I really enjoyed it, I didn't love it and I really wanted to love it.

But there was just something missing from this story for me. Maybe it was the overall vibe of it, it seemed to be missing the family togetherness feeling. Although all these kids grew up together, I felt NO real connection between them. Also as mentioned above Hero's relationship with his parents and even like with King {Lo} seemed weird to me. Also I mean I know the parents were going on vacation but we only got to see Cyn once and Rigid a couple of times. Yeah it was just missing that real family aspect to it for me. Other than that I really enjoyed it.

I'm giving this book 3.5 Stars out of 5 and can't wait for the next one!!!!
